Hello there, I’m Appliance Ace, your go-to repair person for all your appliance needs. I had the pleasure of fixing a dishwasher today that wasn’t working properly. Let me tell you what I did.
Upon arriving at the house, the owner explained to me that the dishwasher wasn’t cleaning the dishes and they suspected the heating element may be the culprit. I introduced myself and immediately got to work.
The first diagnostic step I took was to check the power source, but that was not the issue. I then checked the circuit breaker and reset it, and the dishwasher started to work again.
Next, I checked the dishwasher’s water supply and drain hose to make sure they were clear and in good condition. I then removed the lower spray arm and filter cover to inspect the motor and pump assembly, and everything looked fine.
However, the owner had mentioned a possible issue with the heating element, so I needed to check that too. I ran a diagnostic test to test the heating element’s resistance using a multimeter, and it was not working properly. I knew that a bad heating element could cause dishes to come out dirty, so I had to replace it.
I located the faulty heating element and removed it, and then installed a new one in its place. I then ran a programmatic self-test to make sure everything was working properly, and it was. The dishes were coming out clean and sparkling!
I explained to the owner what I had done and that their heating element was indeed the issue. They were happy with the repair, and I was satisfied with a job well done.
